Yesterday I started reading Grendel and the first thought that came to me was 'wow, poor Grendel is just misunderstood' but I'm sure a lot of us can relate to that. The book itself is really intriguing, Grendel lives an...uh..interesting lifestyle.
One scene that stood out to me, specifically a statement made by 'The dragon' was...'Knowledge of the future doesn't create it' The philosophy behind it was, this dragon could see the past and future as well as the present. He was able to see the future but argued that knowing the outcome of an event does no ensure it...sounds like an argument I could make in philosophy class...
Darkness sees no fault. No human imperfection as far as genetics are concerned. Shadows cannot lie, for their very being is an absolute image. Reflected only in the presence of light, yet there is no prejudice. The still of night carries with her a sense of peace, every whisper amplified yet each word lost in translations. Oh how long shall the shadows I've so long embraced play garment,cloak to my eternal night?
